(VEN) - The Center for Marinelife Conservation and Community Development (MCD) together with the Vietnam Administration of Seas and Islands (VASI) organized a workshop on December to present and promote the model for managing natural resources, developing people's livelihoods, and coping with climate change in Vietnamese coastal areas and islands, based on the community.
The workshop also addressed policies and experiences in managing natural resources and marine environments, and developing people's livelihoods with the involvement of the community in the context of climate change in coastal areas and islands.
Most practice models shown at the workshop were presented by local partners and people in project sites in Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Khanh Hoa and Hai Phong.
The workshop was a part of the project to help coastal poor communities in Vietnam develop sustainable livelihoods and protect the environment under the support of the European Union (EU) and Oxfam Novib, and the project to build capacity in resisting and recovering from climate change in Vietnamese marine biosphere reserves and coastal areas under the support of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA)./.
