(VEN) - In implementing project 'Development of Vietnam's environment industry to 2015 and a related vision to 2025', the Ministry of Industry and Trade - the presider of this project - recently issued Document 2104/BCT-KHCN providing guidelines for registering implementation of the project's module 'Scientific research and technology application and transfer for environment industry development'.
Proposals related to the project's implementation are mainly concentrated on the following areas of the environment industry.
One is technology research, application and transfer related to production of environment protection products including waste treatment products (machinery, chemicals and microorganisms), information technology specifically designed for use in the environment industry (environment forecast and analysis software, environmental surveillance and environmental information updating software, digital maps), pollution measurement and control equipment, and pollution control technology (energy efficiency technologies).
Another area is technology research, application and transfer related to development of environmental services such as environment analysis and surveillance, wastewater management, solid waste management, other pollution management, dangerous waste management, environmental consultancy and design, and environmental certification.
One more area is technology research, application and transfer related to sustainable use of natural resources and environment restoration, including restoration of natural resources like polluted land and water areas, exploited mineral mines, vegetational covers and ecological and biodiversity areas (ecological zones, eco-tourist sites and ecological urban areas), new and renewable energy (wind, geothermal and solar power and more), and waste recycling and clean water supply.
Environment industry development will not only contribute greatly to environment protection but also create a promising economic sector. Under the plan, environment industry will be developed into an economic sector that plays an important role in developing Vietnam industry from 2015./.
