(VEN) - The Panasonic Corporation announced the opening of a sciences and mathematics-themed center called Panasonic Risupia Vietnam on September 8 in Hanoi. This is the second center of its kind in the world after Japan.
The new facility utilizes Panasonic's advanced AV technologies and know-how to interpret the world’s famous laws and principles of sciences and mathematics into various playing activities for Vietnamese children aged from 11 to 17 years old. The establishment is open to the public every day (except Monday and New Year holidays) starting September 9, 2010.
Risupia (the name is developed from the Japanese word of “Ri” for Sciences, “Su” for Mathematics, and from the Greek word of “Pia” for Place) was first opened in August 2006 at Panasonic Center Tokyo, as a support to the development of Japan’s future generation, by providing a place for children to play with several laws and principles of sciences and mathematics hidden in exhibited items. Risupia was designed to bring them through the phase of question (?) to self study, and then discovery (!), based on the use of their five senses. The final objective is to spur their interest in learning the beauty and wonders of sciences and mathematics.
Based on the founder, Konosuke Matsushita’s Creed of “Contribution to the Society”, Risupia is now in Vietnam, and envisions cheering on the dreams and aspirations of the children shouldering the future of the country. At Risupia Vietnam, children can play under various themes, such as Physics, Mathematics, Water, and in areas such as Magical Performance theatre, and the Discovery Base Camp.
