(VEN) - The Thinh Phat Kontum Group was established in 1997 and has mainly operated in the export of agricultural products. In its 15 years of operations, the group has grown to currently manage 1,000 staff, with branches and distribution centers throughout the country.

The group is increasingly exporting agricultural products to China, Singapore, the Republic of Korea, Indonesia and Chinese Taipei markets. Cassava topped the group's list of export revenue for many years, frequently accounting for 70 percent of the domestic market. Export revenues totaled US$22.6 million in 2008, stood at US$47.7 million in 2009 and reached US$49.059 million in 2011. The total asset value of the group increased from VND83 billion in 2006 to VND1 trillion in 2011. The group also expanded its operations into rubber plantations, petroleum, transportation and construction of civil works.
Thinh Phat Kontum Group deputy managing director Nguyen Ngoc Thach said that the key issue leading to the group's success was the selection of agricultural products as the core product to create a solid foundation, prior to gradually expanding its operations into other sectors. For 15 years trading in the agricultural market, the group has become a key player working with partners and people in product development, including bringing plant seeds and advanced science and technology to farmers. Moreover, it has focused on renovating its management, research and product development and services, while continuously improving product quality and proactively committing itself to providing quality products and responsive customer service. The group has bolstered its reputation and brand in foreign markets, providing the basis for the sustainable development of Vietnamese agricultural brands. In particular, the group has received strong supports from foreign partners, such as Singapore and the Republic of Korea.
Together with the export market maintenance and expansion, the group has also helped developed the domestic market through building a supermarket chain specializing in agricultural products, distribution and logistics network and petroleum business. The group will expand its business into rubber plantations with the development of a 10,000 hectare site in Karatie Province, Cambodia.
The Thinh Phat Group has actively participated in community and charitable activities, including raising funds for the poor and promoting education development. The group provided VND1.3 billion for local charity activities in 2011.
Due to these impressive achievements, the Thinh Phat Kontum Group and its leaders have been given many awards, titles and certificates, including title of Vietnamese Entrepreneur of Year in 2011, Outstanding Entrepreneur in 2011 and recognition as one of Vietnam's top 50 brands./.
