(VEN) - A business with a high brand value often succeeds in raising capital for investment and development projects, asserted the General Director of the PetroVietnam Drilling & Well Services Corporation (PV Drilling), Dr. Do Van Khanh, in a talk with Vietnam Economic News' Xuan Bac and Thu Duyen.
Could you brief PV Drilling achievements after it has listed on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange?
Through listing on the securities market, the company can mobilize investment capital for production and business expansion in an openly and transparent manner. From meagerly VND680 billion in total chartered capital at the time the business was equitized, PV Drilling has raised its chartered capital to VND1.5 trillion presently and more than US$350 million in the international capital market. With such impressive growth in the capital sources, PV Drilling had a total asset value exceeding VND12 trillion in late 2009, 470 percent more than before it was equitized (2006); similarly, its revenue was VND4.097 trillion and before-tax profits were VND926 billion which were 200 percent and 470 percent more than in 2006, respectively.
What factors have helped PV Drilling attract investors?
PV Drilling has established a firm foothold in petroleum technical services, particularly in the drilling services in both domestic and international market. The corporation is one of a few businesses having in its contingent more than 700 drilling specialists, engineers and workers who love their jobs and share the strong determination to make the Vietnamese drilling industry known widely in the international arena.
