(VEN) - Title 'High Quality Vietnamese Product' has been annually conferred on businesses in Vietnam 14 times, with the most recent time being on March 5, 2010. 'High Quality Vietnamese Product' title awarding program has been playing an important role in promoting Vietnamese goods production and use.
Usually, surveys are carried out throughout the year to gather consumers' and distributors' assessments of products and product brands. After that products and product brands are evaluated based on these consumers' and distributors' assessments and in accordance with an approved system of criteria.
In 2009, 776 businesses were conferred on the title 'High Quality Vietnamese Product'. These include companies that all have 204 products conferred on the title 'The Best Vietnamese Product'.
With seven products recognized as 'High Quality Vietnamese Product', VINAMILK Corporation took the lead among award receiving businesses in terms of number of recognized products and product brands. The seven products include ice cream, Dielac powdered milk, yoghurt, condensed milk, sterilized fresh milk, soy bean milk and Vfresh fruit juices.
Masan Foodstuff Joint Stock Company ranked second with four recognized products (Nam Ngu fish sauce, Chinsu soy sauce, chilly sauce and Chinsu black sauce).
One hundred and thirty-six businesses of 10 service categories were conferred on the title 'The Best Service in 2010'.
With 351 businesses conferred on the title 'High Quality Vietnamese Product', Ho Chi Minh City ranked first among provinces/cities nationwide in terms of number of recognized businesses. Hanoi ranked second with 77 recognized businesses, while Binh Duong province ranked third with 41 recognized businesses, Dong Nai province ranked fourth with 36 recognized businesses and the city of Can Tho and An Giang province ranked fifth with 15 recognized businesses each.
The current intellectual property law recognizes 'High Quality Vietnamese Product' label as a certified label starting in 2010. This means that those products/services, which have that label, have a high quality certified by the state relevant authority.
In 2010, the 'High Quality Vietnamese Product' program organizing board kicked off 'Businesses supporting Buy Vietnamese Goods Movement' program. This program is promoting domestic production, Vietnamese product quality improvement, Vietnamese product use, and Vietnamese product competitiveness improvement. It not only helps businesses to escape from difficulties caused by the global financial crisis and economic recession but promotes domestic production in the post-economic downturn period as well.
When it was launched for the first time 14 years ago, the 'High Quality Vietnamese Product' program just encouraged Vietnamese product quality improvement. In the following years, it promoted trademark and distribution development. Apart from these, the program now encourages Vietnamese people to use Vietnamese products. The program does a job in promoting domestic goods production and use.
Products with the 'High Quality Vietnamese Product' label attract buyers in nearby countries including Cambodia. Vietnamese confectionery, instant noodles, spices, other processed foods, plastic products, kitchen ware, and seeds and other agricultural materials attract Cambodian customers.
This year, businesses that are members of the 'High Quality Vietnamese Product' Club will be more active in working together to improve their competitiveness. The club will hold many events to support and advertise Vietnamese products nationwide, while opening 'High Quality Vietnamese Product' exhibitions and trade fairs inside and outside Vietnam in addition to conferences and contests in which producers and distributors can meet and exchange information. There will be 36 programs selling Vietnamese products in rural areas in 2010./.
