(VEN) - The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) together with the Vietnam Women's Union, ministries, sectors and local authorities organized the Vietnam National Women's Week from March 3-8 across the country.
Within the framework of the week, the Vietnam Entrepreneur Forum 2010 was held in Ho Chi Minh City on March 3 hosting representatives of the government, ministries, central organizations, local people's committees, business associations, economic experts and almost 500 businesses.
Particularly, there at the forum were Nguyen Thi Doan, the Vietnam Deputy Chairwoman, Victoria Kwakwa, the World Bank country director for Vietnam, Pham Gia Tuc, the VCCI deputy chairman and 2009 outstanding businesswomen.
Under the theme, "Vietnamese Economy after the Crisis: Opportunities and Challenges", the forum presented the World Bank's look at direct impacts of the global economic crisis on Vietnam and other countries in the region, the opportunities Vietnam should take during the process of regional integration and the World Bank's role and commitments in its efforts to help Vietnamese businesspeople, particularly businesswomen, to get through the crisis.
The participants talked about the future for businesses, inflation risks, the World Bank's assistance programs for Vietnamese businesswomen, benefits from the government's plans for 2010-2015 and post-crisis opportunities for Vietnamese businesses./.
