(VEN) - Saigon Co.op recently presented "Vietnam Goods Pride", which is its largest sale promotion program for this year attracting 400 domestic production businesses, a 150 percent increase against 2009.
The program was launched on August 30 and will end on September 26 at 46 Co.op Mart supermarkets and 12 Co.op Food stores nationwide. It is expected that the program will cost VND45 billion worth of discounts of 1,500 categories of goods.
This is the 13th year Saigon Co.op got together with domestic businesses to promote Vietnamese goods. The program includes a meeting between the Vietnamese goods ambassador and consumers at several supermarkets, and the Green Consumption Week, which is to make consumers better understand the need to protect the environment.
In addition, 15 businesses will send 150 commodity trucks to communes in remote districts such as Hoc Mon, Cu Chi, Binh Chanh, Nha Be, Can Gio and Thu Duc, and the export processing and industrial zones of Binh Chieu, Linh Trung, Tan Tao and Vinh Loc, to sell major consumer goods to people there like food, detergents, cosmetics, garments and household utensils, at discounted prices. The commodity trucks will work from September 2 to the end of the month. Businesses under this program include SATRA, Saigon Agricultural Corporation, Saigon Co.op and VISSAN./.
