Work Starts on Hau River Power Center

(VEN) - The Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PVN) started construction of infrastructure of the Hau River Power Center on July 18 in Phu Huu A Commune, Chau Thanh District, Hau Giang Province. This is part of the master project to build the 5,200MW Hau Giang Power Center in 2010-2015.

 
The Hau River Power Center Project will stand on 260ha and include three sub-projects (Song Hau 1, Song Hau 2 and Song Hau 3 coal-fired thermopower plants), which will cost almost VND4 trillion.
Nguyen Quoc Khanh, PVN deputy general director, said that the project is part of the group's strategy to produce more than 9,000MW in 2015 accounting for 25-30 percent of the national power production./.
